How do I go about getting a student visa for my cousin in Colombia?

I'm a US resident who lives in NJ. I have been living here about a year and a half. My cousin wants to come here on a Student Visa. How do I go about doing that? Do I hire a lawyer? I already checked out the U.S. Department page but it reads like a text book. Can anyone give me simpler directions. I have a school already that would accept him.
