Wisdom in politics Give an example of a good and wise politician who wasn't necessarily brilliant.?

Intelligent politicians abound. What about wise ones? Can anyone point to an example of a politician who wasn't inctredibly brilliant, but was incredibly wise, who led a nation to increased freedom, peace and prosperity. How would you define "wise"?
