ok, so today my 15 month old did the most bizzare thing i could ever imagine. and believe me when i say i did not make any of this up and there are no exaggerations. i put on a video for her to watch and i was crocheting, sitting on the couch not far away. next thing i know i look up from my crocheting project to see that my daughter had pulled her diaper (which was slightly wet) completely off. furthermore, she had somehow gotten a hold of her wipeys and was wiping herself clean. she then handed me the wet diaper. i was so shocked i couldnt move for a few minutes and when i finally went to put a dry diaper on her i was laughing so hard i almost couldn't do it. i swear this is the honest to god truth, and i am convinced she is ready for potty training. is this a sign that i have a prodigy on my hands or have your kids ever done some equally crazy and amazing things???

feeding help please?

After three visits with the lactation consultant and searching archives of information, not to mention reading my feeding book like its the bible I am stumped... My son had lost 6 oz, 6 days after birth. We are going tomorrow for a 2 week checkup (he is actually 10 days old) and he is going to be weighed- at my last appointment they seemed concerned with his weight loss and wanted to see him in a few days. I am nervous that if he didn't gain the weight back, I will have to supplement formula and really, really don't want to have to do that. I am unsure if he is completely emptying each at a feeding, but they are usually about 30 minutes long, every 3 hours. He has had 5 wet and 5 dirty diapers today. Does this seem ok? I have read so much about this but I just don't feel confident. I would really love to hear about some personal experiences and hopefully get some reurance. p.s. I have not given him a pacifier or introduced him to a bottle- oh, and he has a recessed lower jaw so that also makes it more difficult... Sorry, information overload. Help ?!?! Thanks:)

The vertebral foraman is a small hole where nerves travel through, basically out from your spine, through these foramen, and go laterally and wrap your back. You are most likely have pain in your lower back, more prominent on your left side, but not severe. Or, at least, intermittent pain. This swelling or herniation of the cartilage could press on the nerves, often called a "pinched nerve" and cause localized pain, or distal pain since these nerves travel out laterally toward your side. You may or may not even have muscle spasms ociated with this, from the left center of your back all the way to your left side. Any of this ring true??

I tried a bitless bridle but with my horse it was a joke (a scary one). She seems to do really well in a leather, fleeced lined, short-shanked mechanical hackamore. I am very lighthanded with her, I don't do a lot of pulling but I have heard so many different stories about the mechanical hackamore. ok, so two days ago i fell of this guys skateboard really late at night (i know bad idea)... and ever since my left thumb and the area underneath it (like around the far left palms) have been painfull, and extremely swollen, and my thumb hurts when i try to move it. i went to the docters and he said i probably broke it and that i should go get an x-ray. so at the hospital when the radiologist looked at my results and said it was indeed a fracture, and the other radiologists agreed with her. but she had to send it to a different for a doctor to make sure BUT that doctor said it was not broken. so now imm all confused is it broken or not?? its bright purple and black and still icky and swollen and mishapen. what do you think is wrong?

I have oily AND frizzy hair - what can I do?

I shampoo daily, but only a few hours after I get out of the water my hair is oily again. Oily AND frizzy. I'm using "Pert for Normal to Oily Hair" right now, a 2-in-1 shampoo plus conditioner, and that's all I put in it. I scrub my scalp thoroughly AND leave the Pert in throughout the duration of my shower before rinsing it out. I normally let my hair dry on its own - I seldom blowdry or style it or use other products because touching it makes it oily/frizzy faster. Without fail, all day it's either frizzy or oily unless I tie it back, which is what I've been doing since age 11. I've got long, straight, fine hair that I'd someday like to show off - I take good care of it, but what can I do about this?

Ways to reduce our environmental impact?

I wanted to suggest one way we could reduce our environmental impact without significantly changing our way of life. I think one of the places we needlessly expend CO2 gas is in the transport of water. Some cities have banned bottled water, and to an extent I understand that. But what if, instead, local cities distributed purified water and distilled water like the milk men did years ago. I think it would have to be a city/state funded program instead of charging residences a monthly fee so that it would kick off well. But then think about all the ways you can lower greenhouse gas from shipping. For example, instead of buying a full bottle of shampoo or soap, you buy a concentrate that takes up a 1/4 of the bottle and you fill the rest up with distilled water. Mix it up and it is the same as you would have bought it from the store. You would do the same with purified water for your drinks. By localizing the production of water, you reduce the impact of transporting it.

Condensation build up by furnace?

We have a 4 yr old high efficiency gas-fired furnace in our attic. It's been giving us trouble EVERY YEAR since the house has been built. This year is a new issue- we noticed water on our ceiling so went into the attic and found water collecting at the base of the trunk that comes off the furnace. Does anyone know what the heck is going on or how to fix it? My husband is going crazy! Of course the heating/plumbing guys are booked solid for several days since it's only 15 degrees and we just got a foot and a half of snow. Thank god we have a propane fireplace for supplemental heating, but we're worried about the damage done to the attic with all the water. HELP!

As for fleece, you would probably take a large or medium- it really depends on how tight you like your clothing. I have a couple of fleece sweaters from Abercrombie Kids and I purchased them in large but I definitely could've gone down to a medium... if you prefer things to be tighter I'd go for a medium in fleece as well. 4 weeks 5 days pregnant and bleeding with clots?

I went to the ER last night because I had started spotting and as it got worse I had back pain as well. They did an ultra sound and l probe and could find no baby; although they said it could be too early. They took blood and said my Hgc levels were low. I'm 20 years old and I have thoughts of ending my life on numerous occasions for reasons most of you would deem stupid as hell. My garage door openers won't work!!?

I have two carage door openers..One a genie intellicode and the other is a new chamberlain liftmaster. A few weeks ago they both quit working! They both work from the wall mounted controls and if i stand right next to them with the transmitters for the cars they will both work. When the doors are down and we try to open them with our car transmitters we get nothing. I also have touch pads for both mounted outside and these have quit working also!!! What is growing in my petri dish of ecoli?

This is probably a silly question but I am new to biology and have done a lab where ecoli is in a liquid medium on a petri dish then we used different soaps to get different zones of inhibition. In our regular hand soap the ecoli began to grown in a quadrant then spread through the entire dish. What exactly is it that is growing? Spasmodic Dysphonia, I need to know what I can do?

So last year I started to notice my voice going strange, after 4 months of thinking this hoarseness in my voice would kick over one day I finally went to see a doctor who referred me to an ENT doctor who told me I was suffering from "Spasmodic Dysphonia" and I was told I should see a voice therapist. I'm 20 years old, I cannot afford to see a voice therapist, i'm barely making ends meet as it is. It sounds like mouth rot. Not MBD. Mouth rot is caused by poor living condtions aka low temps not cleaning the poop everday. MBD is where there still eating just have disfiguring bone twist. hello. i just came from black friday and am dead tired so i apologize, i wont be able to respond to answers right away. so i bought 4gb (2gb each chip) of ddr2 ram for my laptop. my laptop came with 2gb ddr2 ram and in doing research, it can handle up to 3gb of ram. so here is my question. if i take out 1x 1gb ddr2 chip (one possible company) and replace it with 1x 2gb ddr2 (possibly another company's) so 1gb plus 2gb equal 3gb, will that work? that question was to see if mixing different companys ram is ok because i dont know what the ram is made of. i hope that was clear. and in the answer to that last question is no, i have one more. if i am not able to mix companys ram, can i take out all my current ram and in stall the 2x 2gb ddr2 ram? i think that installing a total of 4gb of ram, 3gb may only be used. is this guess right?, having 4gb ram wont like overload my computer or anything? thanks a whole lot. happy thanksgiving and safe shopping

Anyways he is also claiming he is seeing his ex and staying at her place and sleeping with her etc. Well now that I am ignoring him will he start to miss me? Since I am not begging and crying and constantly trying to get in touch with him? Will it start bothering him? I moved home four months ago, after living on my own for a year, and brought my two cats (1 year old each) home with me. The problem is that my mom's eight-year-old cat doesn't want my cats in 'her' house, so she's mean to all three of us. And she's figured out that my cats are free-fed, and she's found where their food is kept. We've tried putting up a gate, with a ledge about 2.5 feet above the ground, where (we figured) the younger, more agile, cats could get over it, but the older cat wouldn't be able to navigate. That backfired. My newest trick was moving the food up at window-level (4 feet, maybe) on a box, and showing my cats where to get it, but I'm not convinced that it will be enough to deter the older cat. Any ideas???

Last week I just found out that my cat has a tumor and it has deteriorated half of his jaw. The surgery to fix this is a couple grand and my parents just don't have the money. The vet recommended that we put him down because he said that he's most likely in a lot of pain. I've had my cat, Sammy, since I was seven and I'm now sixteen. I have Ryan Grant solidified as one of my starters. He's not great, but he has been really consistent this year. I have Tim Hightower, Willis Mcgahee, and Kevin Faulk. I need help identifying a vegetable growing in my garden.?

I originally thought this vegetable was some type of squash, but now I wonder if it's young/unripe pumpkins. They're dark green, smooth and shiny growing on a vine with large, flat leaves and yellow flowers. They're also about the size of a large squash. The leafy part of the plant that they grew on grew fast and far over the last two months, completely overtaking the rest of my garden. Inside they are whitish and have seeds in the center, which actually kind of resemble pumpkin seeds. Is this a young pumpkin or another vegetable I don't recognize?

A year and a half ago, the director of my department said that females had to wear a skirt, although the written policy clearly states that females can wear skirts or pants. When I've spoken to him about the matter, he said that skirts should be above the knee. I told him about the policy and told him that I would never wear a skirt above the knee because I'm a Muslim but I would wear a long skirt. He said, "it would have to have a long slit" which made me feel uncomfortable. I continued to wear pants. After a couple of months, my supervisor told me that the director wants me to wear a skirt. I copied the policy and underlined what the policy stated and my supervisor told me that I was write and would speak to him about it. The topic never came up again until early fall of this year. In a meeting, the director threatened to do disciplinary action towards those who don't dress as he wanted. I continued to wear my pants. My old supervisor left and now I have a new supervisor who was transferred from somewhere who is basically the director's puppet. She brought up that I needed to wear a skirt. I told her about what the policy stated and she said that she understood and spoke to him about it before but this is what he wants.
