Why do Atheists and Theists ask questions?

I can only speak form myself. I have given theists best answer, but they so rarely offer anything other than a rationalization or fallacy that I can't call what most of them do "answering" at all. Questions serve to instigate thought on all sides, and often the total lack of coherence in the answers theists give serve to illustrate the nonsense of their position as well as any atheist could.
