Why do feminists include references to the patriarchy when discussing wages in 2009 in the West...?

If you notice, most feminists don't mention or discuss patriarchy unless they are speaking to like-minded people in their own circles. It's really only fanatical feminists that bring up the patriarchy in everyday conversations with "regular" people. But that doesn't mean that modern feminism doesn't believe in a patriarchy, they believe in a patriarchy as much as they believe in capitalism. Socially/culturally, they are against patriarchy in society and in families, and they are against capitalism in an economic and socio-economic sense. So their motive is to change what they perceive to be "patriarchal" figures or symbols, such as the father figure in a home and the male CEO. Their motive is to also modify capitalism, to fit affirmative action and pipe dream philosophies of "equality"... even if that means it's forced equality. But they still need enough capitalism in order to bite at the hand that feeds them-- the segment of society that is economically responsible. The portion of society that works hard, tries to keep the family together and pays their taxes. Fortunately most people fall into that group, but who knows what future generations will be like. I think feminists are wildly irresponsible and irrational, and I do not understand why they are given so much power in politics, law and the media.
